So now Team Cam think “Whoops let’s re package Dave as Boris”. Bit of a problem here lads – Dave has no personality. Having spent all his years being all things to all people – he is a PR after all – he will never be able to pull off upper class twit with brains that is the Boris Schtik.

Dave is Mr Smooth. But that is not lovable. All will come good if he shows some backbone – does he have one? We elected the coalition, as they keep telling us, to sort out the mess left behind. Do that reasonably well and you stand a chance of being re elected. All this tinkering around with other side issues that you launch one week and drop the next just creates the impression that you are a lot of schoolboys let loose in the tuck shop. Grow up.

Spare us – don’t try and sell Cameron the sex bomb!

So I wake up to read Obama’s ex lovers speak of his “warmth”. So some Herbert in Team Cameron drags around for something to put their man in the frame as well. We’ve had the posh totty who became a nun with the inference being that if she couldn’t have dashing Dave she might as well have God instead. Now we are treated to what pin up posters he had on his wall. Is this drivel that passes for news really what we want when we are making up our minds in the polling booth today? Bread and Circuses. It all goes round and round. The danger is real – more and more people are just not bothering and not voting. That way lies madness replaced by something far worse.

Whatever you feel about Boris – he appears authentic. Voters like that

With BBC Breakfast struggling to maintain edge as it sinks into the Regional mire of Manchester, the axing of Daybreak is bad news for them but a great opprtunity for ITV. The ITV Breakfast slot now has the advantage and they must seize it. They must stay in Central London and grab the best presenters and interviewees. They must learn the lesson learned by TV AM before them. Do NOT spend your budget on overpaying Presenters. The running order need to be tightened with short snappy items and revealing interviews and they have then the means of finally taking on the old enemy. A fantastic opportunity- just wish it was mine!
